What Are Guar Gum SXL Grades?

The Guar Gum SXL grades are a line of modified hydrocolloids made for top tier rheology management in food systems. Derived from the guar plant, these are advanced galactomannan polysaccharides modified to be a dependable LBG substitute.

Because they are non ionic, the SXL grades work well across a wide pH range, making them perfect for many foods and drinks. A key feature is how well they work with other hydrocolloids like Xanthan Gum and Kappa Carrageenan. Grade Profiles & Uses

Guar Gum SXL-20

This grade is the top choice for creating a smooth, creamy texture. It is perfect for dairy desserts, ice creams, sauces, and breads. It dissolves easily at room temperature, which makes production simpler. It provides great freeze thaw stability, stopping large ice crystals from forming in frozen treats to keep them feeling rich and smooth. SXL 20 also prevents “weeping” in yogurts and cream cheese and helps ice cream melt slower.

Guar Gum SXL-30

Guar Gum SXL 30 is a multi talented grade aimed at the pet food industry. It offers strong gelling power and stability, making it ideal for high temperature processing conditions. As a non ionic hydrocolloid, SXL 30 performs consistently and works well with gums like carrageenan and xanthan to form firm, sliceable gels in canned pet foods.

Guar Gum SXL-40

Built for maximum gelling power, SXL 40 is the strongest viscosity grade in our lineup. It is the best choice for products that need solid textural strength, like confections, thick dressings, and beverages. SXL 40 makes very firm gels, perfect for water dessert jellies and bakery fillings that need to hold their shape. In drinks and sauces, it adds a rich body and keeps herbs or fruit pulp from settling.

Technical Details, Packaging & Storage

All SXL grades are off white, nearly odorless powders that meet global food safety standards. They are identified by CAS No. 9000-30-0 and INS No. 412.

  • Packaging: The standard package is a 25 kg multi walled paper bag with an inner polyethylene liner for a moisture barrier. We can also provide custom packaging.
  • Shelf Life: SXL grades are best if used within 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored properly.
  • Storage: To keep the product at its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat. Once you open a package, please use it within a reasonable time.
